For the past several years, local Muslim community leaders have been striving to establish an organization to promote coordination and cooperation amongst Islamic centers and Muslim non-profit organizations. This effort culminated in the forming of Northern California Islamic Council (NCIC) as a registered 501(c)3 non-profit. Dr. Hatem Bazian is the current chair of NCIC.

The Council endeavors to be the unifying force that brings together a wonderfully diverse American Muslim community in the Northern California for greater good. In this environment of rising Islamophobia and hatred towards Islam and Muslims, it has become all the more important to consolidate our strengths, eliminate our weaknesses and stand firm with peace and dignity.
